The arm type has a structure that up and down the lift with an arm attached under the floor at the rear of the body. As the lift is down slightly away from the body, it may not be suitable for tall objects. Compared with the vertical type, the lift touches the floor slowly, so the arm type is considered more suitable for heavy objects such as machinery including heavy machinery. The arm type does not require rails, and the gate can be to store under the floor. So it can be put on to bodies like wing trucks or vans.
